Fall happenings

It has been a busy fall as we get ready for winter.  Wood gathering, winterizing the barge and putting summer items away.  George has been very, very busy.  We have plans for new things for next season and can not wait to start them

We wish all our American friends a Happy Thanksgiving and to all our friends a wonderful holiday season.

July 1-20 2014

Canada Day was very successful with the Ho-shoe tournament seeing over 20 teams again.  Chili and Dogs were a hit, with the chili being toned down and not quite as hot!!  Cap't Charlie did an outstanding performance which was to be expected.  Fireworks were awesome.
Winners of the Ho-Shoe tournament

We have been very, very busy since our season kicked off, with full docks several nights.  Hundreds of Cini-buns have been eaten, oodles of sausage rolls (or salad as Colyn from Seajay calls them) devoured, dozens of loafs of bread and of course, many, many pizzas, fish and chips, ribs and burgers.  Full tummies all around and as usual No Calories at Port Harvey!  They disappear when entering the bay!

The Port Harvey Yacht Club has been a hit as well, with all burgees being sold with memberships.  The commodore for this year is Patrick  from Spirit.  Next year, a new commodore with be pulled out of a hat to continue on.

We continue to welcome old and new friends and thoroughly enjoy everyone's visit with us.  Keep coming!

Busy start to the season

As usual the season started with a bang on the 17th of June.  We have had quite a few at the dock, including three Wagonner flotillas, a group from Anacortes, Comox Valley Yacht Club, Squamish Yacht Club and several others.  We are anticipating a busy season and are excited to welcome Sharon Rehbein to help us this year.  She has been here not even a week and already we notice the difference.  Thank you so much Sharon!  Sharon worked for us at our hardware store in Valleyview, Alberta several years ago and we consider her our friend.  She loves being on the water and is looking forward to fishing!🐠🐟

Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day is fast approaching.  Come join us for free chili, hot dogs, the 3rd Annual Ho-Shoe tournament,  Captain Charlie performance  and firework finale which will be bigger and better than last year.  Looking forward to visiting with all our boating friends, new and old!

The Season has begun

PORT HARVEY YACHT CLUB!
It seems the season has begun!  We have already had two Wagoneer Alaska flotillas stay and are expecting a third next week along with the Comox Yacht Club.

Speaking of Yacht Clubs, Come and join the Port Harvey Yacht Club!
Cost is $40.00 which is the cost of the burgee and is a lifetime membership (life of burgee).  Colyn and Connie from Seajay designed and ordered the burgees.  They are available at the General Store in Port Harvey.

Had a wonderful visit with out daughter Melissa and granddaughters Signe and Quinn.  What a lovely time of year for them to visit

Getting ready for the season

It has been a flurry of activity as of late.  After getting back from the Seattle Boat Show, George has been very busy.  I had to go back to Alberta twice in February.  Once for my brothers funeral and once to work in our store in Red Earth Creek to give our nephew Ryan some time off.  I was gone for two months and arrived back just after Easter.  What a surprise I had!  George had been very busy down at the barge and dock.  New wall by the laundry, painted walls and new floor.  Upstairs has a new wall, new cupboard and new three compartment commercial sink.  He was really busy.  Sabi has been enjoying the outside and saw her first grizzly bear.  Now she barks at anything that moves, but she is just doing her job.  She has been having fun exploring and chasing birds, squirrels and garter snakes.  I have been busy cleaning flower beds and pressure washing the walkway and dock.  We hope to paint the barge this year as well as it is getting a little tired looking.

We have had several boats so far and soon we will be quite busy.  We are hoping to hire a friend to help this year.
Looking forward to everyone visiting again this year!

Seattle Boat Show

Exciting and busy first day of the boat show.  Enjoyed meeting new customers and reconnecting with others.  If a person buys either the Wagonner Cruising Guide or Northwest Boat Travel and bring to our booth #927E we will sign our ad or write up.  When a person moors at the dock and shows us the signed book they will receive a 2 for 1 fish and chips or equivelent.  Hope to see you at the show
